Looking for Veterans

The Union Museum of History and Art

May 24-August 2

Are you or a loved one a veteran? Will you help share this story of service to country?
The Museum will relate the experiences of Union Parish veterans, both living and deceased, in its exhibit “Honoring Our Heroes,” May 24-August 2. The “Wall of Honor” will display photos and names of veterans, and the entire gallery will display veterans’ memorabilia, such as medals, uniforms, dog tags, maps, news clippings, weapons, letters, flags, and commendations. BRING EXHIBIT ITEMS to the Museum on May 9 – 12, with all items clearly marked with owner’s name and contact information. Particularly valuable items can be displayed in locked glass cases (just let us know in advance).

PLEASE help the Museum make this exhibit a fitting tribute to the men and women who have fought to uphold freedom for us all. Call 318-348-2005 for ideas, special requests, or questions. Accompanying the exhibit will be events such as veterans’ oral history recording sessions, art therapy sessions for veterans, talks by organizations that serve veterans’ needs, and other related talks and workshops. Your ideas on topics are welcomed!
