James Carey

The trial of James Carey, on the charge of complicity in the bank robbery and murder at Warren, Ark., in February, 1896, terminated in a verdict of acquittal, last Friday. The defendant proved a clear alibi. Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Carey (parents of the accused), Mr. J. T. Wade and others from Union Parish attended the trial as witnesses. Immediately after his acquittal Carey was arrested on a warrant from Van Zandt County, Tex., where he stands indicted for burglary.
