Wagon Step Invention

The Gazette
October 13, 1897

Mr. Elias George, of this parish, has secured a patent on a folding wagon stop of his invention. The device is fastened to a wagon bed, and works automatically. It can be unfolded by the driver without moving from his seat, and after the occupants have gotten out of the vehicle it can again be folded up in the same manner. This patent will prove a great convenience to ladies and children in getting into and out of wagons.
