Robbery in Spearsville

The Gazette
July 27, 1898

Mr. E. A. Buckley, of Spearsville, informs us of a bold robbery that occurred in the northern part of this parish last week. Thursday morning between midnight and day a thief entered the house of Mr. Jas. Taylor, who lives near the Arkansas line, and carried away a trunk containing about $700 in cash. The trunk was taken several yards distant from the house and there broken open and the booty secured by the robber. This robbery resembles the two that were recently perpetrated in the tenth ward of this parish, and it may be that all the deeds were done by the same parties.
