Suicide by Shooting

Thursday morning Mr. Alex Bennett, a young white man who resided with his father near Mt. Tabor in this parish, committed suicide by shooting himself through the neck. He lived several hours after the fatal shot was fired. For some time young Bennett had shown symptoms of a deranged mind. He had been sick with fever and several times expressed a desire to die. His family and friends have the sympathy of our entire community in their great trouble.
