Horror Party

The Gazette
March 7, 1900

A “horror” party was given Monday evening by Miss Reita Hartman to her Farmerville friends. Each guest came forward at the proper time with the horror of his or her life. The most amusing “horror” presented was brought forward by Miss Mary McLeod in the shape of a live mouse. When it was turned loose in the room, it proved a veritable horror to all the lady guests present, causing some to jump on top of tables and chairs, others to rush from the room, and a few who found no other way of dodging the “horror” fell fainting to the floor, crying “help” “murder” etc.
