A few weeks ago a Mr. Reynolds, representative of the Western International Association, a supposed insurance company of Washington, D. C., visited our parish, and we are told, secured policies from some of our people.

Concerning this company, Mr. Julius Arent received the following letter, dated June 6, inst., which is self explanatory:

Mr. Julius Arent,
Farmerville, La.

Dear Sir:

Replying to yours of the 31st. ulto., I will say that the Company you refer to is not authorized to do business in this state. ***

Yours truly,
Eugene J. McGivney
Assistant Secretary of State.
