Temperance Resolution Adopted by Everett Association
Whereas, some of our towns have advocated the sale of intoxicating liquors in their limits to bring them trade;
Therefore, be it resolved, by the Everett Association that we recommend that christian people withhold their patronage as far as practical from any and all towns or individuals who advocate or encourage open saloons or the sale of intoxicating liquors in any way save for medical purposes.
Be it further resolved, that the messengers composing this association be requested to bring this matter before the churches and ask them to pass similar resolutions.
Be it further resolved, that we ask all christian people of all denominations who are opposed to the sale of intoxicating liquors to co-operate with us in stamping out the evil in our country.
