It is now claimed that all, preliminary matters pertaining to the construction of the Hamburg, Ruston & Southern railroad have been definitely closed, and that the board of directors met in Ruston last week and elected officers. It is their purpose to begin operations on the road between Ruston and Farmerville very shortly. In regard to the railroad, the Shreveport Times of Tuesday contained the following from its Ruston correspondent:
We are reliably informed that the new Hamburg, Ruston and Southern Railway is assured. Both Ruston and Farmerville have raised the required amount and the attorneys have been over the right of way and secured requirements for legal transfers of property.
