Body of Carlisle Dawkins Recovered

The body of Carlisle Dawkins, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Dawkins who was drowned in the Ouachita river Monday afternoon, was recovered from the river early this morning. The body was found opposite the residence of Mr. W. M. Ruffin, some distance below where the drowning occurred, by an employee of the Monroe Lumber Company. It had risen and floated in against a raft there. The body was in a fair state of preservation.

The funeral took place this evening at 3 o’clock from the First Methodist church, the interment being in the city cemetery. -Monroe Star, 8th inst.
