Is It Really Christmas Again?

Pearl Harris

I just cannot believe that it has been a year since we had Christmas – it seems like about 3 months. Do you remember when we were kids ( I know it’s been a long time for some of us) but we thought Christmas would never get here. Everything is so different now, one toy, or a doll, and a few pieces of stick candy, some nuts and a few small firecrackers. But it was a good time even though Santa was kind of poor. But we always had that fresh coconut and that flat wooden box of raisins. I would give anything to find a box of raisins like that. They had the seeds and stems in them and packed in a flat wooden box. But, boy, they were delicious. I don’t remember a lot of people coming to our house – maybe it was lack of transportation back then. Today, Christmas is so commercial it almost overshadows what the real meaning of Christmas is. If it wasn’t for that little baby boy born in a manger over 2000 years ago, just think what the world would be like. Let’s give thanks for our loved ones and let’s not forget the real meaning of Christmas.

I appreciate all the comments I receive about my little articles – I can’t believe people read them, but evidently they do from the comments I get. I really appreciate hearing from you. My wish for you this Christmas is that you will truly have a “Christ” filled Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year. May God bless us all.
