A Mr. Beaird, who lives near Cherry Ridge, was robbed a few days ago of over $200. While absent for a short time from his house some one entered and went to the trunk containing the money and abstracted it. The thief was evidently familiar with the surroundings, as nothing else was disturbed.

The little daughter of Mr. Sid Hale, who lives near Downsville, was burned to death one day last week. Her mother was also seriously burned while trying to extinguish the flames.

Rabbi I. Heinberg, of Monroe, arrived Tuesday evening to conduct the funeral services of Mrs. Julius Arent who died Monday evening at 9 o’clock.

Mr. John Lockwood, of Ruston, is a visitor to Farmerville this week, genial and pleasant as ever and also solidly business.

We are glad to see Mr. Oscar Baughman able to be on the streets again, after a brief illness.

Mr. J. M. Wallace, of Shreveport, came in Saturday and left Tuesday morning.
