Police Jury Proceedings

Be it ordained by the Police Jury of Union Parish, La., in special session convened , that the building thus accepted as the court house, which has been constructed by M. T. Lewman & Co., under the supervision of A. J. Bryan & Co., architects, be and the same is hereby dedicated and set aside as the court house of Union Parish, La., all sessions of court shall be held in the room provided therein as the court room.

Be it further ordained that the clerk of the court, sheriff, assessor, treasurer and all other parish officials be and are hereby ordered to move their records and furniture in the rooms provided therein for their purposes, and make their offices permanently therein, and that all sessions of the Police Jury shall be held in the room provided.

Be it ordained by the Police Jury of Union Parish, La., in special session convened, that it shall be unlawful for any persons to deface, despoil, break, soil or spit on any furniture, fixtures, glass, wall, floor or any part of the court house building of Union Parish, Louisiana.

Sec. 2. Be it further ordained etc., that any person guilty of violating this ordinance or any part thereof shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not less than one dollar nor more that one hundred dollars, said fine to be graded according to the nature and extent of the damage done. Provided, however, that nay person found violating this ordinance within the court room during any session of court shall be in contempt and may be fined or punished as set forth in existing laws, relative to contempt of court.

Sec. 3. Be it further ordained that this ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage.
