On Tuesday night, December 27, Union Chapter No. 29 Order of the Eastern Star, and Bernice Masonic Lodge held joint installation of officers. A banquet was served to 62 men and women by the ladies of the Eastern Star Chapter, at the Baptist church. Following this delicious repast, the members of both orders repaired to the Masonic hall where the joint installation took place.
Mrs. John Paul Jones, of Simsboro, District Deputy Grand Matron, acted as installing officer for the Eastern Star and the following officers of the Bernice Chapter were installed for the ensuing year:

P., Mrs. Manda Rhu Nolan, secretary, Mrs. Maude Phillips, conductress, Mrs. Flora Colvin, assistant conductress, Mrs. Fannie Chance, Ada, Mrs. Alice Bennett, Ruth, Mrs. Dana Odom, Esther, Mrs. Charice Thaxton, Martha, Mrs. Lula Odom, Electa, Mrs. Annie Lee Colvin, Warder, Mrs. Emma Welch, chaplain, Mr. M. Driggers, sentinel, Mrs. Owens organist, and Mrs. Emma Pollock, marshal.
