More than 200 farmers and farm women gathered at the Calhoun Experiment station last Saturday to get new and important information on the care and management of the home orchard.
Dr. Morgan in charge of the Horticultural work at that station, demonstrated proper methods of pruning, spraying, control of borers, mixing spray materials under farm conditions, and how to spray.
The meeting was highly praised by those in attendance, and was otherwise a big success. Union Parish was represented by four orchard owners, two vocational Agriculture teachers, the assistant county agent and the county agent.
