Mattews-Preaus

The Gazette
March 29, 1905

A very happy home wedding was solomized last Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred F. Preaus, on the north side of town, Mr. Cliftion Mathews and Miss Virginia Preaus, both of Farmerville, joined in holy wedlock at the hour of 8 o’clock , Rev. J. W. Elliott, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating. A number of friends and relatives of the bride and groom attended in response to invitations to be present on this momentous occasion, an array of handsome bridal presents attesting the esteem in which the happy pair are held. The groom is a successful young attorney of our town, a member of the firm of Preaus & Mathews, and a gentleman of fine character and many sterling attainments in private and public life, while his fair young bride is the respected daughter of our highly esteemed district attorney, for this district, Fred F. Preaus, Esq., and a lady of estimable personal traits and possessed of all of those charming characteristics that go to make an honored wife and a happy home. With their numerous friends the Gazette extends its felicitations and wishes for them a future replete with cerulean skies, bright with the sunshine of domestic happiness. They are now domiciled in their pretty cottage home on the east side of town.
