The following cases were tried and disposed of at the setting of the criminal court last week.
State vs. Jim Markam et al petit larceny defendant Markam found guilty as charged, and sentenced to 30 days in the parish jail.
Jessie Lowery charged with obstructing public road was tried and acquitted.
West Williams charged with retailing liquor without licenses was tried, found guilty and sentenced to pay a fine of $100 and cost.
Elbert Wilhite charged with carrying concealed weapon was found guilty and sentenced to pay a fine of $20 and cost.
Tom Wade charged with disturbing peace in public place, was found guilty and sentenced to pay a fine of $15 and cost.
Arnold Nolan, charged with assault with a dangerous weapon was found not guilty.
Calvin Barnes, charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, plead guilty and was sentenced to pay a fine of $5 and cost.
Robt. Freeman charged with failure to work the road was found not guilty.
Wesley Grafton charged with retailing liquor without license was found guilty but upon a motion for a new trial the same was ordered by the court.
W. M. Thaxton, charged with carrying concealed weapons was found guilty and sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and cost.
Ben Brantley et al charged with retailing liquor without license and keeping grog and tippling shop. Verdict of not guilty as to defendant Jackson.
Will Gibson, charged with trespassing was found guilty and sentenced to pay a fine of $5 and cost.
Henry Jagers, charged with carrying concealed weapon plead guilty and fined $25 and cost.
