The following clipping is taken from a Houston, Texas, newspaper of recent date:
“A Houston mother and father prepared today to bury their only two children, baby girls, 1 and 3 years old, after the two had died within a few minutes of each other this morning.
“The children, Carolyn Grace, 3, and Farlene Faith, 1, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. A. Pickens of 519 Fowler street, died of pneumonia at 6:30 a. m. today at the residence.
“Mr. Pickens, keeping a vigil at the bedside of his baby daughters, called the funeral home to notify them of the death of one child. When he turned back to the bed of the other child, she too, had died, he told funeral home attendants.
“Funeral arrangements were to be announced today by the Heights Funeral Home.
“Survivors in addition to their parents, are their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pickens of Albuquerque, N. M., and Mrs. Emelie Beyer of Houston: an aunt, Mrs. Ernest Alleman, and an uncle, Paul Beyer, both of Houston,”
The father of the children above referred to is a nephew of Mrs. Joe W. Booth of Farmerville.
